Studio Owner/Dance Instructor
Lyn Mulcahy began her early dance training at Barbara Lynnes School of Dance in Elida. She went on to further her education by receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in dance education and minor in physical education from Bowling Green State University. While at Bowling Green she was a four year company member of the University Performing Dancers and also an instructor for Bowling Green State University in the children’s programs and director of dance for the Bowling Green City Parks. Miss Lyn twice attended Harvard Summer Dance Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has choreographed for many local events including Allen County Junior Miss Program and rehearsal instructor for the Great Russian Nutcracker, Dayton Ballet Nutcracker and Broadway touring performance of The Wizard of Oz. Miss Lyn and Miss Gillian are working together as Artist in Residence at Marimor School for their fourth school year. This is the fourth year Miss Lyn and Miss Liz are working with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Youth Dance Program. This is a national project designed to educated students about drug prevention through the arts. They are working with 5th-6th grade students from North Middle School. Miss Lyn is very excited to be celebrating her 23rd dance season! Miss Lyn and Miss Liz will are partnering with the Moscow Ballet for the November 2017 performance of the Great Russian Nutcracker in Lima, Ohio.

Liz Cozad is celebrating her 16th year with Lyn’s Academy of Dance. After graduating Wright State University with a bachelor degree in dance performance, she began her career teaching at Lyn’s Academy of Dance and with Dayton Ballet’s professional school. While at Wright State University she also trained with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and numerous faculty from Dayton’s major dance companies. For eight years Liz was the director of dance at Lake Bryn Mawr Camp, America’s premier sleep away camp for girls. This is the fourth year Miss Liz and Miss Lyn are working with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Youth Dance Program. This is a national project designed to educated students about drug prevention through the arts. They are working with 5th and 6th grade students from North Middle School in Lima, Ohio. Miss Liz is also an adjunct faculty member at Ohio Northern University in the dance department. Miss Liz choreographed for our competition teams this season and won the highest awards for her choreography and her dancer’s technique. Miss Lyn and Miss Liz will are partnering with the Moscow Ballet for the November 2017 performance of the Great Russian Nutcracker in Lima, Ohio.

Gillian Kales is a former Lyn’s Academy of Dance dancer and a fourth year member of our teaching staff. Miss Gillian is an excellent dance instructor for dancers of all ages! Her competition choreography won high awards this competition season. Miss Gillian and Miss Lyn are also the teaching artists for Very Special Arts Ohio (VSAO), this is their fourth year of working with students from Marimor School. They partner with the classroom teacher to enhance teaching and learning through an arts integrated residence and curriculum. Their year of teaching at Marimor was highlighted with a Christmas dance performance and a season ending performance at Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Lima. Miss Gillian is also a founding member of Dance Prodigy Competition, a local dance competition making its second debut at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Lima Ohio on February 26, 2017. Miss Gillian is an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher. In July 2016 she completed her training and certification in this program which is designed to teach dance educators how to safely and effectively instruct AcroDance in the dance studio.

Crista Warrington is an energetic and creative dance instructor with an impressive background. Miss Crista began her dance training at 3 years old and quickly developed a strong love for the art of dance. She is the Competition Director for Lyn’s Academy of Dance and has taught competition dance classes since 2001. This season her choreography won 1st place at Cathy Roe and Nexstar Dance Competitions and numerous high accolades at all the competitions! She has an extensive background in competition dance performance and choreography. Her dance training includes jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, ballet and modern dance. After graduating from Lima Central Catholic High School, Crista went on to dance in two shows at Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. Miss Crista is also a founding member of Dance Prodigy Competition, a local dance competition making its second debut at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Lima Ohio on February 26, 2017. Miss Crista is also the cheerleading coach at Lima Central Catholic High School
